Literacy changes lives by building confidence, wellbeing and opportunity. As a Literacy Champion in Aberdeen, you will coordinate a small team of volunteers to encourage reading for pleasure through fun, community-based activities that help make reading a regular and enjoyable part of everyday life.

We are looking for caring volunteers to support our HeadWrappers workshops for people experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatment, helping participants build confidence through practical headwear and scarf-tying techniques.

We have a range of exciting volunteer opportunities to assist in this and would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in joining our great volunteer team. This includes assisting with our Older People Volunteer Befriending Service where people are matched on a 1:1 basis with an older person aged 60 and above within Aberdeen City.

Join our amazing team of Communication Support Volunteers, who support people who have had one of our conditions to develop autonomy and confidence in self-management, enabling them to fully engage with their community and activities of their choosing.

Join our Cheer Team at a special SCAA-Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance dedicated pit stop motivating our brave supporters taking on the Kiltwalk on Sunday 7th June. Every offer of support helps us continue funding life-saving missions across Scotland.

Help create a safe, welcoming and fun space for young people at our Foyer sessions. This role includes: supporting youth activities including arts & crafts, cooking, games and group discussions, building positive, trusting relationships with young people and supporting an inclusive and encouraging environment.
