Springhill Community Garden provides raised and communal beds for the local community to grow their own food, maintains wilderness areas to attract pollinators and support wildlife, and welcomes groups from several schools to learn, gain work experience, and have fun in the garden.
They are advised by a local organic farmer, and partner with other community groups and businesses to help them develop, to share and swap resources, and encourage environmental management. Their first batch of compost will soon be ready, making the garden more self-sufficient. Their volunteer base continues to grow, bringing new skills and opportunities to the garden.
Springhill Community Garden is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help run our “Sunday Café” – a weekly gathering aimed at bringing the community together over hot drinks, food, and great company.
Through community links with local schools, youth groups and businesses, the garden seeks to promote a sense of community working together to build something for others. We are looking to create a community of gardeners - no experience necessary.
