Our mission is to ensure that every person living, visiting or working in Aberdeen has access to the whole city.
We provide a range of services including volunteer companions, a wheelchair accessible car and a range of mobility scooters and wheelchairs to improve peoples’ independence, increase their confidence and broaden their choices.
Shopmobility Aberdeen also provides long-term loan of wheelchairs and scooters to help those who find themselves temporarily disabled due to an accident, injury or recovering from surgery and need the extra support whilst they heal.
Since opening in 1992, it has been our mission to ensure every person living, visiting or working in Aberdeen has access to all the city offers regardless of age, physical disability, sensory impairment, developmental disability or their mental health and whether that disability is temporary or permanent.
As a volunteer for this project, you will be a companion to our clients. Our clients are mostly elderly or people with disabilities affected by exclusion. In order to help them, we are providing a network of volunteers who accompany them while going out on public transport, going to pictures or, simply, grabbing a coffee.
