Our group offers friendship and support locally to people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers.
For information and advice on Parkinson's, or for emotional support, call the Parkinson's UK helpline on 0808 800 0303
Local group meetings are regular get togethers where you'll be able to meet other people affected by Parkinson's. Here you'll find mutual support where you can chat, socialise and relax, often with a cup of tea or slice of cake in hand. Lots of local groups also offer a range of other activities including chances to get active, scroll down this page to see what other opportunities this group offers.
We have 180 members, with an average of around 50 people with Parkinson's. We're very fortunate in having a Parkinson's nurse and a Parkinson's local adviser based in the area. We organise regular events and social activities.
Please get in touch for more information, and to confirm the next meeting date, as sometimes they change. For example, there is no meeting in December or January, and there is a Burns lunch on the 24th January instead. Please get in touch if you'd like details to join us.
Parkinson's UK Aberdeen Branch are looking for a person interested in becoming the Chairperson of the Aberdeen Branch of Parkinson's UK. The Chairperson's role is to oversee the meetings and to be aware of the issues that can affect the smooth running of the various therapy sessions that exist to help and support people with Parkinson's Disease.
