About

Since 2018, Hand of Solace offers support to socially isolated and disadvantaged members of Aberdeen City.

Hand of Solace is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) whose purpose is around:

  • the prevention or relief of poverty
  • the advancement of education
  • the advancement of health
  • the saving of lives
  • the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage

Our aim is always to reduce social isolation and the impact of disadvantages to promote the health and mental well-being of our service users to allow them live a happier life.

Our Befriending Services, Children and Families Drug and Alcohol Support (CAFDAAS) and Social/Cultural activities are services through which we aim to support disadvantaged members of Aberdeen community to promote good health, mental well-being and communal inclusion.

We thank all our dedicated volunteers/befrienders for the amazing work they do every day to continue to support some of the disadvantaged member of our communities.
