Age Scotland is the national charity for older people. We work to improve the lives of everyone over the age of 50 in Scotland. Our mission is to inspire, involve, and empower older people in Scotland, and influence others, so that everyone can make the most of later life.
We provide information, advice and friendship, support older people’s groups, promote age and dementia friendly workplaces and communities, deliver health and wellbeing programmes, and campaign on the issues that older people tell us are important.
The Comradeship Circles service aims to reduce loneliness by offering older members of the ex-service community the opportunity to enjoy regular group camaraderie by telephone. A Comradeship Circle will host typically six people on the same day and time each week to chat about a range of topics and interests over the phone.

Our statistics have revealed that 218,000 over 50s in Scotland say they feel lonely all or most of the time. As people get older, it can be harder to maintain social connections. Retirement, bereavement or moving somewhere new can leave people feeling lonely and isolated. That's where you come in!

Having a conversation can have such a positive impact. That?s why we offer a Friendship Service which listens, provides friendship and offers support. We can talk about all sorts, from current interests, hobbies, personal and professional goals, top tier biscuits, time travel - the list is endless!
