Sound-Event Volunteers:

As part of Silver City Stories, an event bringing Aberdeen's History & Heritage to life between 26 June - 2 July, sound has commissioned three short site-specific operas:
"The Mither Kirk" at St Nicholas Kirkyard (~15min)
"The King and His Shadow" at St Peter's Church Courtyard (~5-10 min)
"The Engine Room" at Footdee (Fittie) (~5-10 min)

The operas will be performed multiple times on Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 July. We're looking for friendly, responsible and reliable people to help us with crowd management and ushering duties at these three sites. We’re also looking for a volunteer who has a valid first aid certificate to be the first aider at Fittie during the performances.

The operas will be performed 4-6 times on each day between 11am-6pm. You will have a full support from sound staff and be briefed beforehand. We’re flexible with the hours and days you can do.

A fantastic opportunity to help and be part of a major event for Aberdeen. For further details please contact Kadri Soerunurk (Sound Coordinator) on email admin@sound-scotland.co.uk or tel.: 01330 826 526

Homestay Host Families:

*About the opportunity:
Do you have a spare room? Are you passionate about showing the best our country has to offer?
We are looking for homes to host people from other countries and cultures while they visit, whether this is for a weekend or a whole academic year.  Home-stay opportunities underpin the ethos of our organisation; to create a more peaceful, tolerant and understanding world through intercultural exchange and experiences. You will be providing young visitors with a real, immersive experience of what it is like to live here.

*About EIL UK:
The Experiment in International Living (EIL), founded in 1932, was one of the first programs of its kind to engage individuals in intercultural living and learning.
Originating in the United States, The Experiment introduced the ‘homestay’ concept to the world by carefully preparing and placing “Experimenters” in the homes of host families abroad for a firsthand exposure to culture and language.

Since the time Founder Donald B. Watt took the first group of Experimenters to Switzerland, tens of thousands of individuals of all ages and backgrounds have shared experiences, languages and customs with others from different cultures and traditions. Together they have broadened horizons, gained lifelong friends and helped to advance the goals of peace and understanding.

All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated. For more details please contact: Dave Rossiter, Host Network Coordinator, Email: d.rossiter@eiluk.co.uk / T: 01684 562577 / www.facebook.com/eiluk
